Stone is not separated by ILMS, suspended magnet, or metal detectors — it is separated by grizzly screens, roller screens, or dry destoners (like FGX separators).
For foreign materials, yes — other than these technologies, systems like eddy current separators, X-ray or AI-based vision sorters, and air-jet ejectors are available.
1. Eddy Current Separator:
It removes non-ferrous metals like aluminum or copper from coal flow. After the magnetic separator, a fast-rotating magnetic drum creates eddy currents that repel non-ferrous metals, throwing them away from the coal stream.
2. X-ray Sorter:
It scans the coal on a conveyor using X-ray sensors to detect high-density stones or foreign materials. Air jets then automatically eject the unwanted pieces from the coal stream.
3. AI-based Vision Sorter:
High-speed cameras with AI image analysis continuously monitor the conveyor to detect stones, wood, or tools. When identified, the system alarms or stops the belt to remove the material manually or with an air ejector
